The Pagan holiday of Samhain (pronounced SAH-win), or Halloween, marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of Winter, the portion of the year that is devoted to the Goddess. This holiday is one of great significance to witches, as it represents the time of the year when the veil between the world of the living and the realm of the spirits is at its thinnest. This is a time when communication with the dead – ancestors, loved ones, pets, benevolent spirits – is most effective and abundant. Often thought of as a “dark holiday,” Samhain calls us to reflect upon our journey over the past year and to offer gratitude to the experiences and lessons we have accumulated along the way, as well as to those souls living and dead who have assisted us in our work. Ceremony and ritual around this holiday is often focused on honoring and releasing the experiences and lessons of the past year and setting goals and wishes for the new year ahead.
In Western culture, the somber and serious aspects of Halloween frequently take a backseat to the more sensational and revelatory. Haunted houses, corn mazes, pumpkin carving, scary movie marathons, costume parties, and trick or treating are themselves rituals that metaphorically honor the pagan themes of the season through a decidedly more pop-culture lens. Additionally, and perhaps a side effect of our strict Puritanical roots, the supernatural and the occult often carry with them a seductive and dark sensuality. Vampires, witches, werewolves, lusty ghosts… Who hasn’t fantasized about the things that come out to play on this most magically active and mysterious night of the year?
You can get into the spirit of the season both etherically and physically, and certainly lustfully, through the following adult activities. The tricks are tips for getting into the mood in a playful way, and the treats are sweet offerings of sensual enjoyment. Forget the boring – follow the suggestions below to trick AND treat your way to an erotic Halloween
TRICK: Heat things up with a little witch-themed erotic cinema.
Let’s face it. Witches are sexy. Why not get yourself into an amorous mood by snuggling up with a crush (or yourself) and visually indulging in a little witch-on-witch action? You can always visit your favorite video store (Scarecrow, perhaps?) for the more mainstream, cult, and softcore titles – like 1970s trash classics Virgin Witch, Sex of the Witch, and Bacchanales Sexuelles. YouTube is another great source for naughty films, both feature-length and abbreviated. For true X-rated fun, however, there are plenty of so-bad-they’re-good porn movies focused on witches, a handful of which I’ve listed below:
The Shaft
All you 90s witches will love this parody of the Fairuza Balk classic The Craft.
The Bare Wench Project; The Erotic Witch Project
These are both parodies of The Blair Witch Project, the second flick being the first in a trilogy.
The Witches of Breastwick
Very loose The Witches of Eastwick parody involving a hot tub portal to supernatural sex.
Sexual Magic
Witches manifesting their sexual fantasies into reality and rarely wearing clothing.
TREAT: Brew up a sweet and spicy potion to arouse the senses and stimulate the libido.
All that lusty voyeurism is bound to work up a thirst! The following recipe will quench your hankering for refreshment while heating up your libido at the same time. The cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, and clove all have warming properties that increase circulation and body temperature, and their aromatic spiciness seduces the senses. Raw honey is rich in boron, which stimulates estrogen productive and increases desire. The apple cider brings the juicy sweetness of forbidden fruit into the mix, and the optional addition of dark rum makes it extra indulgent.
You will need:
2 quarts unfiltered apple cider
3 tablespoons raw honey
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon clove
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/2 cup dark rum (optional)
Place the apple cider and raw honey in a 3-quart saucepan. Heat over medium heat until honey dissolves. Add in your spices and simmer for 15 minutes. It is important to make sure your brew does not come to a full boil. Remove from heat, add in rum if desired, and enjoy!
TRICK: Raise your heart-rate and your adrenaline with these dirty twists on some classic Halloween games.
Play is one of the fastest ways to arouse the senses, awaken the body, and stimulate the mind. Now that you’ve indulged in a little thirst-quenching aphrodisiac, you should be ready to engage in some more physical activity. Find a partner, or in some cases gather a small group together, and get to it!
Bobbing for Body Parts
Blindfold your lover. Undress and lay down on a bed or other flat surface. Instruct your lover to hold their hands behind their back and when you are ready, tell them to begin “bobbing” for your breasts, pubic area, lips, any of your erogenous zones with only their mouth. Switch places when you’re properly titillated.
There’s a Stranger In My House
Hide-and-seek meets fantasy roleplay. Pretend you’re a babysitter who’s all alone in the house after the kids have gone to bed and you hear a noise. Let your partner be the intruder. Cat and mouse game commence! Also works with the following additional scenarios: vampire and victim, ghost haunting/hunting, monster-under-the-bed. Whoever finds the other first gets to have the upper hand in the resulting sexcapades.
Naughty Ghost Stories
This activity can work with just two players, but the more involved the better! The only light should come from candles or a fireplace. Sit in a circle, or directly facing one another if it’s just two of you. Choose someone to go first. Take turns creating an erotic horror story sentence-by-sentence or short section by short section. Each person should build off the previous person’s action. See how racy and alluring you can make it before you’re ready to leave the fantasy behind and bring the action into reality!
TREAT: Make an edible, eco-friendly, Halloween-themed lubricant to bring some slippery and tasty fun into the bedroom on this spirited night.
By this point, you should be ready for the main event. You can prepare this recipe ahead of time so you’ll be ready to go as soon as the impulse takes you. It’s hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and because it’s water-based, latex condom safe.
You will need:
2 cups of water
3 tablespoons flax seeds
1/2 teaspoon flavored syrup of your choice (vanilla, pumpkin spice, amaretto, cherry)
Place flax seeds and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Let liquid reduce by about half. Remove from heat. Strain mixture into a jar through a mesh colander to separate the flax seeds from the liquid. Discard flax seeds. Add your flavored extracts. You can store your lubricant (in a tightly-sealed jar) in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.
